As the sun rises on this beautiful morning, we are greeted with a picturesque scene following an outstanding weekend.

Although we may experience a slight temperature drop today, plenty remains to enjoy. However, be prepared for hotter weather approaching later in the week, especially for those residing in the Newark and North Jersey region.

According to forecasters at the National Weather Service, as the day progresses, a widespread haze will settle in the area afternoon, accompanied by areas of smoke that may become more noticeable after 3 pm.

Despite this, the skies will remain mostly sunny, with a high temperature reaching around 73 degrees.

An east wind blowing at approximately nine mph will provide a gentle breeze for residents in Newark and the North Jersey region.

NWS meteorologists say with a humidity level of 60%, the air might feel slightly muggy but still comfortable.

Looking ahead, NWS forecasters say it's essential to note that the weather is expected to heat up significantly after Thursday.

As the barometer stands at 30.18, signaling stable atmospheric pressure, taking necessary precautions, and preparing for the upcoming hot weather is crucial.
