Newark Residents Asked to Observe No Parking on Snow Covered Roadways

Newark

Newark officials announced that snow showers might produce flooding in certain areas today.

Officials say snow is predicted tonight, mainly before 11 p.m., with accumulations of less than one inch. Tomorrow, a 30 percent chance of snow showers is expected after 10 a.m. with wind gusts of up to 40 mph. Snow showers may continue into tomorrow night before 8 p.m. with sustained gusty winds.

Residents are asked to observe the city’s “No Parking on Snow Covered Roads” regulations due to the expected snowfall. Signs have been posted on streets throughout the City of Newark to notify motorists of the streets designated for no parking during snowstorms.

Motorists and residents are urged to look for the sign pictured below to identify the streets where the parking ban will be enforced.

Violators can expect to be issued a summons and towed.

These regulations are essential to the removal/plowing of snow and salting operations and to allow emergency vehicles to pass. Whenever possible, off-street parking is recommended during snowstorms.

That may mean partnering with a neighbor to use their driveway according to officials.

All residents are reminded that tossing snow into the street is against the law, and violators will be fined.
