Newark Public Library Closes Early Due to Lack of Heat Inside Building
Newark Public Library officials have announced an earlier than usual closing due to lack of heat inside the historic main building.
According to a brief statement released from city officials, the Washing Street facility was forced to close at 12:30 p.m. after the building's heating system was no match for frigid outside temperatures.
Forecasters at Accuweather said winterlike temperatures pushed into the Northern NJ region on Thursday evening and is expected to will continue the cold spell into the weekend.
Forecasters say in some parts of the region and Newark, temperatures will drop to the teens and even the single digits.
It is not clear if the library will reopen on Saturday
