There were no injuries reported in a shots fired incident that occurred early Sunday morning in Newark.
According to preliminary reports, police responded to the vicinity of South Orange Avenue and South 9th Street before 5 a.m. to investigate reports of shots fired.
Units arrived at the scene to find evidence that a shooting occurred but after a search of the area, officers did not find a victim according to reports.
Officers located shell casings at the scene and are currently looking for the suspect who fired the gun.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
