Newark Police Seeks Public’s Assistance Locating Plainfield Man Wanted on Aggravated Assault Charges

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Tramaine Dedmon, 20, of Plainfield, who is wanted for an aggravated assault incident that occurred yesterday.

According to authorities, at approximately 5:40 p.m., 1st Precinct officers responded to a Central Ward residence on a call of a man pointing a firearm at a woman he knows following a quarrel.

Officials say the suspect, later identified as Tremaine Dedmon, also known as Tramaine Williams, fled on foot toward Montgomery Street.

Detectives investigating this incident have identified Dedmon as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest on a charge of Aggravated Assault.

While police are actively searching for Dedmon, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from the streets.

Police described Dedmon as 5’6” tall, 140 lbs., medium brown complexion, black hair and brown eyes. Authorities say Dedmon was last seen wearing a black sweat suit, tan boots, blue du-rag and black hat. He also has a bandage over one eye.
