Newark Police Seeks Help Identifying Woman Wanted for Questioning in Shooting Investigation

Authorities in Newark request the public’s help identifying the woman who is wanted for questioning about a shooting that occurred on May 1.AdNewark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said at approximately 12:30 a.m., the victim was walking on Elizabeth Avenue between Lehigh Avenue and Stengel Street when he heard gunshots.

The victim, realizing he had been shot in the leg, called for an Uber, which took him to Beth Israel Medical Center, officials stated. 

According to officials, the woman is described as a Black female, the individual was captured on surveillance video with the victim before he went to the hospital.

She was wearing dark-colored pants, a yellow shirt, and a dark-colored jacket, authorities say. 

Officials said they both entered an Uber that took the victim to the hospital.AdThe woman escorted him to the emergency room and left, officials say.
