Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said at approximately 11:05 a.m., a shopper inside a store in the 100 block of Ferry Street observed a cell phone placed on a display case by a store employee.

Authorities say the store’s surveillance cameras show that the shopper then took the phone, placed it in her right-hand coat pocket, continued shopping, paid for her selected items, and left the store, taking the employee’s cell phone, a blue Cricket Magic Android.
