Newark Police Seeks Help Identifying Suspect Who Stole $400 from Laundromat

Authorities in Newark request the public's help identifying the suspect in connection with a business robbery that occurred on Saturday, March 9.AdNewark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said at approximately 12:30 p.m., the suspect, a customer at a laundromat in the 100 block of Avon Avenue, complained to workers that his clothing was stolen from one of the dryers.

The customer demanded compensation for his stolen clothes, officials stated.

According to officials, after he was refused compensation, the suspect went behind the shop's counter and took the cash register containing $400.00 out of its station.

The suspect then fled the scene in a light-colored Jeep Cherokee, officials say. 

Officials said detectives investigating this incident are seeking the public's help to quickly identify this suspect.

Authorities say he is described as a Black male, 5'4" tall, and approximately 150 pounds. He was wearing a black sweater, black pants, and white and green sneakers.
