Newark Police Seeks Help Identifying Robbery Suspect

Authorities in Newark request the public’s help in identifying the male suspect in connection with a robbery that occurred on Monday, September 22.

Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., stated that at approximately 6 a.m., Newark Police responded to the 100 block of Walnut Street on a call of a robbery.

A man walking toward Pacific Street was struck from behind by a suspect, causing the victim to lose consciousness, according to Newark officials. 

Newark officials say the suspect stole the victim’s cell phone and his green Puma book bag, containing his Bank of America debit card and other personal items.

Detectives investigating this incident describe the suspect as a Black male wearing a black jacket with a reflective strip over the hood, a yellow shirt with sleeves, black pants, and carrying a skateboard, Newark officials stated.
