Newark Police Seeks Help Identifying Package Theft Suspect

Authorities in Newark request the public's help identifying the male in connection with a package theft that occurred on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.Af Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said between 9 a.m. and 11:15 a.m., a male suspect carrying a black trash bag opened the gate of a residence at Maybaum Avenue, near Tremont Avenue, and removed delivered packages.

The suspect put the packages inside the trash bag before fleeing, walking southbound on Maybaum Avenue towards Tremont Avenue, officials said.

According to officials, one of the stolen packages contained a CPAP Machine valued at $2,000.00.

Authorities say the detectives investigating this incident are seeking the public's help in identifying the pictured suspect, described as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and dark-brown boots.
