Newark

By: Najla Alexander

Authorities in Newark are investigating the identity of a suspect who stole a cell phone from a victim on March 6.

According to officials, the victim advertised his phone for sale on Facebook Market Place.

After the suspect responded to the post, they agreed to meet at Bank of America, located at 1 Springfield Avenue, officials said.

Officials said when both men arrived at approximately 1:10 p.m., the victim gave the phone to the suspect so he could look at it.

The suspect took the phone and ran away eastbound on Springfield Avenue toward Market Street, authorities say.
