Officials stated around 12:53 a.m., law enforcement swiftly responded to a call reporting an armed robbery within the 100 block of Vermont Avenue.

Shockingly, the second suspect drew a handgun and used it to assault the victim, while the duo proceeded to seize $200.00 from the victim's possession and extracted his cell phone from the vehicle.

Authorities say the victim was subsequently transported to University Hospital for treatment of his injuries and is currently reported to be in stable condition.

Investigators working on the case managed to capture an image of one of the suspects and are now seeking the collective efforts of the community to rapidly identify him.

He is believed to have frequented the 100 block of Grove Terrace in Newark, according to officials.

Director Fragé urges anyone who possesses information about the suspect's identity to contact the Police Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).

The collaboration between law enforcement and the public is crucial in ensuring the swift resolution of this alarming incident.
