Newark Public Safety officials are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect wanted in connection with the theft of packages from an apartment building earlier this month.
According to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., the suspect was captured on surveillance video taking packages from the mailroom of a residential building on William Street on August 5, 2026.
Police said the thefts occurred at approximately 11 a.m. and again around 12:45 p.m. at the building, located between Mayor Kenneth A. Gibson Boulevard and Treat Place.
Authorities have released an image of the suspect in hopes that someone will recognize the individual and assist investigators.
