Newark Police Seek Public's Help Identifying Suspects Connected to Weapon Recovery

Newark Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspects connected with the recovery of a firearm on Saturday, September 12.

According to police, officers recovered a handgun in the 200 block of Emmet Street. Detectives investigating this incident obtained surveillance footage of two men wanted for questioning.

Police describe the first suspect as 5’11” to 6’ tall and 180 lbs. He was wearing all black and a New Era baseball cap with a white logo. He also wore black, blue and purple sneakers and had a soft cast or ace bandage on his right wrist.

The second suspect is also described as 5’11” to 6’ tall and 180 lbs. He was wearing a Nike sweater and dark-colored jeans.

Newark Police urge anyone with information about the identities of the pictured men to call the Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
