Newark Police Seek Public's Help Identifying Package Theft Suspect

Newark Police requests the public’s help with identifying the suspect who was captured on surveillance video removing several packages from the hallway of a residence on January 10.

Police responded to a call about a theft, which occurred around 10:35 a.m. from a home on North Munn Avenue. 

Police said that the suspect can be seen taking several boxes and leaving on surveillance video.

According to police, the suspect, a black male, possibly in his late 40s or early 50s, was wearing a red skull cap, a dark-colored coat with a brown fur hood, and light-colored pants. 

He was also carrying a black reusable bag with the word “Health’’ written on it. 

The suspect, who may frequent the Bradley Court area, was with another unknown male, police said.

Newark Police urge anyone with information about the suspect to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). 

All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
