Newark Police Seek the Public’s Help Identifying Man Wanted for Hotel Shooting

Police in Newark requests the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred on Thursday, August 11. 

Police said at approximately 9:30 a.m., Police responded to the Springhill Suites by Marriott hotel, located at 652 Routes 1 & 9 South, on a call of shots fired.

According to police, a man standing in front of the hotel’s elevators reached into his bag and the sound of a handgun rang out.

Responding officers observed a hole in the wall in front of the elevators where the suspect was standing.

No injuries have been reported.

 

Newark Police said Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in identifying this suspect as part of their investigation.

The suspect is described as 5’10” tall and 165 pounds. He was wearing a dark-colored shirt, tan pants, a black and white hat, black sneakers, and was carrying a green bag.
