Newark Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Burglary Suspect Who Ransacked Apartment

Authorities in Newark request the public’s help with identifying the suspect in connection with a burglary that occurred at a residence where $20,000 was taken from a safe between October 14 and October 29, 2023.  AdNewark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé stated police responded to the incident, which happened in the 200 block of Bruce Street while the victims were away on vacation.

When they returned on October 29, several items were taken from their ransacked apartment, officials said.

That included the $20,000, clothing, two televisions, ten pairs of sneakers, a Play Station 4 video game, and a debit card that was used by the below-pictured suspect at 11:16 a.m. at Tavares Supermarket, located in the 200 block of Springfield Avenue.

The suspect, a dark skin male, was wearing a black ski mask, a black and grey Nike hoodie, a black coat, black pants, and white Air Force sneakers.

He is known to frequent the New Community Corporation complex.
