Authorities in Newark request the public’s help with identifying the suspects who robbed a victim of $1,000 at a bank ATM machine on September 2, 2023.

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé reported that police responded to the incident, which occurred at approximately 9:15 p.m. at Wells Fargo Bank, located in the 300 block of Lyons Avenue.

According to officials, the victim was inside the bank when two Black male suspects entered as she was about to get cash from the ATM machine.

One of the men pulled out a handgun and placed it on the left side of her body while the second suspect demanded that she withdraw $1,000, officials stated.

Authorities say she complied, and they ran away northbound towards Leslie Street.

Officials said the suspect with the gun was wearing a grey sweatshirt with a hood, a black ski mask, and black pants.

The second suspect, officials say, was wearing a grey sweatshirt with a hood, a black ski mask, and red Adidas jogger pants with white stripes.

Director Fragé urges anyone with information about the suspects to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
