Newark

The Newark Police Department officials request the public’s help with identifying suspects, who are wanted for a strong-armed robbery that occurred on July 13.

According to the authorities, police responded to the incident, which took place around 9 a.m. in the 30 block of Edison Place.

Police say the victim was exiting her vehicle when the suspects approached her and demanded that she give them her belongings.

They reportedly grabbed the victim’s handbag, which contained her wallet with $100, credit cards and a driver’s license.

Officials say the suspects fled in a gray 2017 Acura MDX stolen out of Clifton.

That vehicle was recovered in Newark with the arrest of Taha Y. Jack Spellman, 22, of Newark for receiving stolen property.

The NPD urges anyone with information about the suspects to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).

All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
