Newark Police Seek Public Assistance in Identifying Armed Robbery Suspect

The Newark Police Department has issued a plea to the community, seeking assistance in identifying and locating a person of interest named Damon Scott, 18.

Officials said authorities are interested in questioning  Mr. Scott regarding his potential involvement in an armed robbery that transpired on Tuesday, September 19.

Around 10 p.m. on that fateful evening, law enforcement officers responded swiftly to a distress call concerning an armed robbery that had occurred on Monroe Street, close to Ferry Street.

The victim, a woman, was accosted by a trio of individuals, all clad in dark attire.

One of the suspects brandished a handgun, and in a terrifying turn of events, they forcibly took her purse, which contained her cellphone, wallet (complete with cash and various debit and credit cards), as well as other personal belongings.

Diligent detectives have been assigned to investigate this alarming incident and are earnestly seeking the cooperation of Damon Scott.

Mr. Scott is described as standing 6 feet 2 inches tall, with an approximate weight of 150 pounds.
