Police in Newark are on the search for a suspect wanted for an assault that occurred in the city on Tuesday.
Officers responded to initial reports of a person stabbed inside a vehicle in the vicinity of Bergen Street and 17th Avenue at approximately 3:30 p.m.
According to a statement released by police, units arrived at the scene and found a male victim suffering non-life threatening injuries after someone threw an unidentified object inside the vehicle the victim was occupying.
The incident caused the driver of the car to crash according to Newark Police officials.
Police officials say the incident remains under investigation.
