Newark Police Search for Missing Man with Schizophrenia

Police in Newark requests the public’s help in locating Mr. Mark Crank, 53, of Newark, who has been reported missing from the area of Broadway and Crane Street.

According to police at approximately 9:45 p.m. last night, Mr. Crank, who suffers from schizophrenia, did not return home from a trip to the store at 6 p.m.

He is described as 5’9” tall and 250 pounds. He is believed to be wearing a North Face or Canada Goose black jacket with fur around the hood, white Nike sneakers, and a black or burgundy knit cap.

While detectives are actively searching for Mr. Crank, they ask the public to help us in quickly locating him so that he can be returned to his family.

Director Ambrose urges anyone with information about the whereabouts of Mark Crank to call the Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).  All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
