Newark Police Issue Warrant for Aggravated Assault Suspect

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Jonathan Reserve, 19, wanted for an aggravated assault incident that occurred on Tuesday.

According to police, just before 1:30 p.m., a man assaulted an emergency services technician by striking the victim with closed fists in the area of Poe Avenue and South Orange Avenue. The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment.

Detectives investigating this incident have identified Reserve as a suspect. While police are actively searching for Reserve, they seek the public’s help in quickly locating him as part of this investigation.

Director Ambrose urges anyone with information about the whereabouts of Jonathan Reserve to call the Division's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).

All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
