Newark Police Investigating Multiple Thefts of Rims and Tires

Police are investigating several thefts of rims and tires in the area of Mount Pleasant Avenue this morning.

According to police, at approximately 6:32 a.m. police responded to the area of Roseville and 2nd Avenue on a call of rims and tires stolen from a Toyota Camry.

Police also responded to Clifton and Delavan avenues at approximately 8:15 a.m. and to Mount Pleasant and Clay Street at 8:37 a.m. for the theft of rims and tires from three Honda Accords.

In each incident the vehicles were left on cinderblocks police said,

Although detectives are investigating the thefts to determine whether any of the four incidents have been captured on surveillance cameras, the public can take simple preventive steps to reduce similar incidents by purchasing an inexpensive set of wheel locks.

Detectives from the 2nd Precinct are investigating these incidents.
