Police in Newark are looking into the cause of a collision that sent several people to the hospital on a highway in the city on Monday night.
According to police, the crash happened at approximately 10 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Route 1&9 near the Budweiser building.
Police say emergency responders rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a crash with an overturned vehicle and trapped occupants.
Rescue crews arrived at the scene and assisted three vehicles from separate cars then handed them over to EMS, who transported the trio to University Hospital suffering serious injuries.
Police have not determined the cause of the crash at this time.
