Newark public safety officials are investigating two separate three-vehicle crashes that left drivers injured Friday morning.
According to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, police responded to Fenwick Street and Meeker Avenue at approximately 10:24 a.m. after receiving reports of a three-car collision.
One driver was transported to University Hospital for treatment and was listed in stable condition. No other injuries were reported.
Earlier Friday, at approximately 7:31 a.m., police responded to another three-vehicle collision at Avon Avenue and South 16th Street.
Newark firefighters were called to rescue one driver who became trapped inside a vehicle following the crash.
The driver was freed and transported to Newark Beth Israel Medical Center for treatment and was reported to be in stable condition.
Officials said the driver was also issued a summons for driving while suspended.
No other injuries were reported in that collision.
Both crashes remain under investigation by Newark authorities.
