A man is recovering from serious injuries after he was stabbed multiple times in Newarkâs Central Ward overnight, according to preliminary information released by authorities.
Shortly after midnight, police and EMS were dispatched to the 600 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard following reports of an injured individual.
When first responders arrived, they located a man suffering from multiple stab wounds, including injuries to the neck and face.
The victim was rushed to University Hospital for emergency treatment.
Officials have not immediately released an update on his condition.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and as of early Wednesday, no arrests have been reported. Police say the incident is considered an active and ongoing investigation.
