Newark Police Investigate Aggravated Assault in the Ironbound Section

Authorities in Newark are actively investigating an aggravated assault incident that left a man injured in the city's Ironbound section.

The incident happened around 9:19 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27, when Newark police received a distress call regarding an injured individual.

Officials said Newark Police officers swiftly responded to the scene, located in the 100 block of Magazine Street.

Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered a man who had sustained injuries during a physical altercation.

According to police, the suspect had struck the victim with an object, resulting in a laceration to the victim's face.

The injured individual was promptly transported to University Hospital for medical treatment and is said to be in stable condition.

As of now, this case remains under active investigation, and Newark police are diligently working to piece together the events leading up to the altercation.
