Newark Police, Fire Division Members Revive Unconscious 56-Year-Old Woman

A woman who was unresponsive and not breathing in Newark Monday was revived by police officers who did CPR.

According to authorities, at approximately 5:20 p.m., officers Lopez and Davis, were dispatched to the corner of Irvine Turner Blvd. and Madison Avenue on a call of a sick or injured female.

Upon arrival, officers - alongside Firefighters Wilson and Defroscia and Fire Captain Rosario - found the unconscious victim and began CPR.

Officials say when the regained consciousnesses, she was transported to Saint Michael’s Hospital for further treatment.

“Working together, police officers and firefighters did what they are trained to do whenever a life is in jeopardy,” Director Ambrose said. “Had it not been for the quick actions of these public servants, the outcome may have been a different one. I commend them all for a job well done.”
