Newark Police to Enforce 'No-Parking on Snow Covered Roads'

Newark

Authorities advise residents that the police will enforce the city’s “No Parking on Snow Covered Roads” regulations in anticipation of snow, which is predicted to start around 8 p.m. Monday and continue through Wednesday.

The 'No Parking on Snow Covered Roads' signs are posted on streets throughout the City of Newark to notify motorists of streets designated as snow removal routes that prohibit parking during snow storms. Motorists and residents are urged to look for the sign pictured below to identify the streets where the parking ban will be strictly enforced.

The upcoming snowstorm may result in accumulations of 10-16 inches between Monday and Wednesday. To aid the City of Newark with the snow removal process, residents are asked to refrain from parking on streets where the signs appear until 48 hours after the snow stops falling.

Residents are being encouraged to use their driveways or to ask for permission to use a neighbor’s driveway if possible.

The Department of Public Safety is coordinating responses to weather-related emergencies and other incidents through the combined use of Police, Fire and Office of Emergency Management Personnel.
