Newark Police Charge Two Men with Robbing a 61-Year-Old Man

Authorities in Newark are reporting the arrest of **Farrod R. Baker, and Bernard Bogar**, both 24 years of age and both of Newark, for an armed robbery that occurred on Wednesday.

According to Newark Public Saftey Director Anthony Ambrose, at approximately 5:30 a.m., a 61-year old male victim was robbed at gunpoint by two male suspects who took his cash in the area of South 16th Street and 15th Avenue.

Director Ambrose said, Newark police caught the two robbery suspects fleeing within a few blocks of the incident.

Farrod Baker was in possession of a loaded .40 caliber handgun when he was arrested, Director Ambrose said.

Baker was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Robbery, and Conspiracy. The second suspect, Bernard Bogar, was also arrested and charged with Robbery and Conspiracy.

These charges are merely accusations.

Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
