City police arrested two people after receiving two separate anonymous tips that lead to the arrests.
On Wednesday afternoon, narcotics detectives received an anonymous tip that two men on the corner of 18th Avenue and Melrose Avenue were dealing drugs.
Surveillance was set up and suspects were located. Shortly after, detectives observed a suspect, later identified as Wil McCord, 18, walk to the rear of a nearby restaurant, remove a plastic bag count it's content and return to the corner.
The detectives arrested McCord and seized a bag filled with bags and jugs of a marijuana, along with a loaded 9-millimeter handgun.
He was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and various marijuana offenses.
This morning, shortly after midnight, members of the city's violence initiative observed a man in possession of a loaded .38-caliber handgun as he got out of a parked vehicle on South 15th Street and 14th Avenue.
Police responded and as they approached the suspect, later identified as 26-year-old Kadeem Reddick, he allegedly tossed the gun shortly before getting back in the vehicle.
Reddick was arrested and the weapon - reportedly stolen out of Newark, was seized.
He was charged with weapons offenses and receiving stolen property.
