Newark Police Arrest Three Suspects on Burglary and Theft Warrants

Police in Newark are reporting the arrests of three people, two of them who had warrants for burglary and the third for theft.

Officials say Newark Police officers arrested Mr. Rashawn Rushing, 36, of Newark for a commercial burglary that occurred August 11, at the Auto Mall in the 300 block of Elizabeth Avenue.

Mr. Virgil Green, 55, of Newark was arrested after he committed a residential burglary in the 300 block of Madison Avenue on July 18.

Following a month and a half investigation, Ms. Monaa Barnes 18, of Newark was arrested after she was captured on surveillance video taking approximately $13,837 from the cash register at Home Depot, the home improvement store on Springfield Avenue where she was an employee.
