Newark Police Arrest Teenage Boy for Central Ward Armed Robbery

Officers from the first Precinct arrested a 16-year-old Newark resident early Saturday morning after committing a robbery stated Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose.

Authorities said two victims were robbed at around 2 a.m. while in the 200 block of Muhammad Ali Avenue.

Shortly after the robbery, officers spotted one of the two suspects and arrested him without incident according to authorities.

Cops said the suspect was still in possession of items taken during the robbery when he was arrested.

The suspect is charged with robbery, possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes. His accomplice remains at large authorities said.

The identity of the suspect has not been released because of his age.
