Police in Newark are reporting the arrest of a man who was found in possession of a gun and CDS early this morning.
Authorities said, at approximately 2:20 a.m., police officers patrolling the area of Elizabeth Avenue and West Peddie Street observed a blue, 2009 Infinity G37 parked in the wrong direction.
When officers approached the vehicle, they saw a .38 caliber handgun inside the car according to police.
The driver, **Jahi O. Allen, 25, Piscataway** was immediately arrested and found in possession of a clear plastic bag containing crack cocaine, a bag containing 22 empty vials and 33 pink caps.
Police charged Allen with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, CDS Possession, and Possession of CDS Paraphernalia.
These charges are merely accusations.
The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
