Newark Police Arrest Man for Alleged Illegal Dumping

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports the arrest of Mr.'Aaron D. Carmichael, 32, of Newark, for an incident of illegal dumping that occurred Friday morning.

According to police, at approximately 10:05 am, the Illegal Dumping Task Force Detectives were driving on Dayton Street when they observed Carmichael walking and carrying a large black plastic bag filled with household garbage.

Carmichael tossed the bag into a dumpster in front of the unoccupied structure which was undergoing renovation.

Police said, as he walked away, Detectives arrested Carmichael without incident for illegal dumping after determining he wasn’t the dumpster’s owner.

These charges are merely accusations.

The suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Illegal Dumping Task Force has made over 30 arrests since its inception on June 12, 2017.
