Newark Police Arrest 18 Wanted Suspect in Fugitive Sweep

Police in Newark are reporting the arrest of 18 individuals and the recovery of three handguns as part of this month’s fugitive sweep.

Police officials said in partnership with federal law enforcement partners from the U.S. Marshal Service, U.S. Attorney’s Office, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the Newark Police Major Crimes Division conducted a roundup of fugitives that led to the arrests of the following: 

Arrest

Arrestees from Newark include Mr. Nathan Braswell, 19, (contempt); Mr. Yahmir Stevenson, 18, (contempt); Mr. Amar Lewis, 19, (contempt); Mr. Rayshawn Riddick, 18 (contempt); Mr. Eugene Vinson, 35, (federal complaint); Mr. Marcus Hyles, 20 (contempt); Mr. Rasul A. Sabir, 21, (weapon possession, CDS distribution); Mr. Quamere Whack, 26, (contempt); Mr. Quamir Moore, 18, (criminal mischief, weapon possession); Mr. Brandon Salley, 22, (contempt); Mr. Oneal Marsh, 32, (aggravated assault, weapon possession, certain persons prohibited from weapon possession, evidence tampering); Mr. Omar Clowers, 29, (robbery, aggravated assault, conspiracy, weapon possession); Mr. Eddie Valentine, 41, (robbery, conspiracy, weapon possession); and Ms. Jamillah Paige, 28, (aggravated assault, weapon possession, conspiracy).

Arrestees from out-of-town include Mr. Dashwan Sharmell Gallagher, 32, of Altoona, PA, (contempt); Mr. Davante Andrews, 19, of Irvington, (weapon possession, receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, obstruction of the administration of the law); Mr. Zamir Wright, 18, of Irvington, (contempt); and Mr. Darnell T. Harmon, 25, of East Orange (aggravated assault, weapon possession, conspiracy).

Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
