Newark Police on Alert After Several Overnight Robberies, Carjackings

Newark Police stepped up patrol after several armed robberies and carjacking occurred around the city overnight.

According to preliminary reports, shortly after midnight, police officials alerted officers on the field to stay on the lookout for a white or light-colored vehicle occupied by several armed male suspects who were driving around the city robbing individuals at gunpoint and committing carjackings.

This is a **brief timeline/rundown** of some of the encounters suspects had with victims throughout the night:

-At approximately 6:55 p.m., armed men entered the 100 block of North 11th Street and pointed a gun at the victim then took their 4-door 2017 gray Toyota Camry then fled northbound on North 11th Street. There were no physical injuries.

-At approximately 10:45 p.m., armed men entered the vicinity of 599 Orange Street and attempted to carjack a victim at that location. There were no injuries reported.

-At approximately 11:25 p.m., armed men entered the area of Mount Prospect and Elwood avenues where they pointed a gun at the victim and demanded their red 4-door Passat with a reported NJ license plate number "RM2-9FL". The victim did not suffer any physical injuries.

-At approximately 12:06 a.m., armed men entered the 300 block of Bloomfield Avenue -near 1st Avenue West- and brandished a gun at the victim then took a 4-door white Infiniti G-35. There were no physical injuries reported.
