Newark Officers Injured in Car Crash

There were non-life threatening injuries reported for two Newark police officers who were involved in a car crash in the city's North Ward.

According to Newark Police officials, the incident happened at around 2:30 a.m. in the single digit block of Lincoln Avenue where they say a civilian vehicle struck a police car causing a chain reaction involving two other police vehicles.

EMS transported the two officers to University Hospital where they are expected to make a full recovery according to police.

The civilian driver stayed at the scene and charges are pending.
