Newark Police officials are investigating reports of a carjacking in the city's North Ward Saturday night.
At approximately 9:25 p.m., police responded to reports of a carjacking in progress on Clifton Avenue.
Upon arrival, police began a search for a white Toyota Rav 4 that was taken from the driver.
The car had reported NJ license plate numbers "K27-MRB".
Police paroling several actions of Newark came across and followed the car on Broadway in the North Ward.
Cops attempted to get the male driver to pull over, but he refused and sped away.
The suspects managed to escape police and remain at large.
