A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Jacob Rodwell, 23, and Taje Watson, 20, both of Newark, for separate assault incidents under the State’s Domestic Violence laws.
According to authorities, on December 26th, 2018 at approximately 12:45 a.m., police responded to a Central Ward residence for a report of an assault.
Responding officers were informed that following a quarrel a man struck a woman he knows with a closed fist.
Detectives investigating this incident identified Jacob Rodwell as a suspect and have secured a warrant for his arrest on charges of Assault and Criminal Restraint.
Police describe Rodwell as 5’8” tall, 150 lbs., has a dark complexion, brown eyes and black hair.
In a separate incident that occurred on December 25th, 2018, at approximately 6:50 p.m., a woman was assaulted in a South Ward residence by a man she knows following a quarrel. The victim was struck with a closed fist, strangled and kicked.
Detectives investigating this incident identified Taje Watson as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest on charges of Aggravated Assault and Simple Assault.
Police describe Watson as 5’3” tall, 125 lbs., has a medium brown complexion, brown eyes and black hair.
While police are actively searching for Rodwell and Watson, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing them from the streets.
This investigation is ongoing.
