Newark Men Charged with Illegal Dumping

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports the arrest of Mr. Rennard Baskerville, 63, and Mr. Josue Rodriguez, 46, both of Newark, for an incident of illegal dumping that occurred Sunday.

According to police, at approximately 9 a.m., police patrolling in the area of Roanoke Avenue and Hawkins Street observed two men carrying construction bags filled with cement blocks onto a vacant lot.

Police say the officers observed some 20 construction bags filled with the cement blocks at the location.

Officers placed both men under arrest and each is charged with Illegal Dumping and Illegal Transport of Solid Waste.

These charges are merely accusations.

Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
