Newark Men Charged with Illegal Dumping

Authorities announced the arrest of Lance O. Robinson, 56, Sean P. Mitchell, 48, and Joseph Days, Jr., 55, all of Newark, for an incident of illegal dumping last night.

According to officials, at approximately 11 p.m., members of the Illegal Dumping Task Force observed the three men unloading large amounts of debris onto the sidewalk and street in front of an unoccupied residence on the 900-block of South 20th Street.

According to authorities, the discarded items included three large black garbage bag containing concrete and household refuse, two black garbage bags and one smaller green plastic bin.

Illegal Dumping Task Force detectives arrested the suspects and charged them with Illegal Dumping and the Illegal Transport of Solid Waste, bringing their total arrests thus far this year to 54. The vehicle used to transport the dumped materials was towed and is subject to seizure by forfeiture.

These charges are merely accusations. Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
