Newark Man Wanted for Stealing Cell Phone from Ironbound Store

Police in Newark seeks the public’s assistance in identifying a male wanted for a theft that occurred on Saturday, September 29th in Newark’s Ironbound section.

According to police, the complainant reported that an unknown Hispanic male customer entered her store in the 100 block of Ferry Street at approximately 11:30 a.m. where asked to look at several phones.

Police say when the clerk turned away, the male stole one phone then fled the store.

Detectives investigating the theft were able to capture a picture of the male from the store’s surveillance equipment police said.

While police are actively searching for this suspect, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating him and removing him from Newark streets.
