Newark Man Wanted for New Year Day Attack in the West Ward

Police in Newark issued a warrant for the arrest of Mr. Otis Johnson, 29, of Newark, in connection with an aggravated assault that occurred on Wednesday, January 1.

Police say at approximately 2:30 a.m., a man was assaulted following a quarrel in the 100 block of Tremont Avenue.

The victim arrived at an area hospital for treatment and was released.

Detectives investigating this incident have identified Otis Johnson as a suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

He is described as 5’11” tall and 220 lbs. He has a dark brown complexion, black hair and brown eyes.

While police are actively searching for Johnson, we seek the public’s help in quickly locating him as part of this investigation.
