Newark Man Killed in I-280 Crash in Roseland

NJ State Police officials are looking into the cause of a crash that killed an Essex County man in Roseland this afternoon.

According to a statement released by police, the crash occurred at 2:41 PM, in the westbound lanes of I-280 in the area of milepost 5.4 in Roseland.

Police say preliminary information indicates that a Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling westbound when it overturned and ejected the driver.

The rider Mr. Charles L. Henderson 3rd, 33, of Newark sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police closed the westbound lanes were closed for 2 and a 1/2 hours.

There were no other injuries reported and no other vehicles involved.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
