Authorities said officers responded at approximately 5:07 p.m. to the intersection of Doremus Avenue and Roanoke Avenue after receiving reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

The victim told police she was standing near the entrance gate to Delaney Hall, waving a flag as vehicles entered and exited the facility, when she was struck by the driver of a red vehicle.

She was transported to University Hospital, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Following the investigation, detectives identified Brown as the suspect. He has been charged with assault by auto and was also issued a traffic summons for reckless driving.
