Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé announced that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force is investigating the fatal shooting of Mr. Anthony Damico, 33, of Newark.
According to police, on Monday, May 15, police responded to a report of a dead body in the 600 block of Frelinghuysen Avenue in Newark.
Police located Damico suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:17 a.m.
The investigation is active and ongoing. No arrests have been made.
