Police in Newark are reporting the arrests of Mr. Devon Thomas, 25, of Newark for CDS on Wednesday.
Authorities said, complaints from concerned citizens regarding drug sales in the area of 4th Avenue and North 12th Street had officers from the 2nd Precinct observe Thomas engage in narcotics transactions and immediately arrested him for distribution of 21 glassine envelopes of heroin.
Police confiscated $336.18 in proceeds from narcotics sales as part of the arrest.
Authorities charged Thomas with two counts each of CDS (heroin) Distribution and CDS Distribution Within 1,000-ft. Of a school along with a charge of Contempt of Court.
These charges are merely accusations.
Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
