Newark Man Arrested for Aggravated Assault on EMS Worker in Montclair

Police in Montclair took a man into custody and charged him with assaulting an EMT last Friday, July 28. 

According to Montclair Police officials, officers were called to the address on Glenridge Avenue after receiving calls reporting a man found sleeping on the sidewalk.

Upon assessing the situation, police officials said they decided that the individual needed medical evaluation.

Montclair EMS arrived to offer assistance, but the man declined treatment and left the area.

According to police, the man later returned and spat in the face of an EMS worker.

The officers promptly apprehended the suspect, identified as Mr. Daron Allen, after he attempted to flee on foot.

Allen was officially charged with Aggravated Assault (Throwing Bodily Fluids) and Resisting Arrest.
